We’ve settled on an album title, finally. Little Storm will be released this fall (late October), and we’ve decided to release all the material on one album, instead of splitting it into two. The album art for Little Storm is slowly falling into place, as well. Here’s the latest draft for the cover…
The album features the work of 16 musicians over the past 2 years. We’ve finished recording 19 songs, with several gorgeous duets between Jesy and I, and a wide array of instruments — vibraphone and violin, harmonica and tympani, accordion and upright bass. The sounds are beautiful and rich. I can’t wait for this record to come out! Now we just need to finish mixing, mastering, and replication. Getting there is easy, once we have the funds.
I’ve started preparing a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to help us get there. In case you haven’t checked it out before, Kickstarter.com is a public fundraising platform for creative projects happening all around the world. You can browse through project proposals by artists in many different categories (film, theater, dance, music, painting, sculpture, design, technology, engineering, etc.) and opt to fund any project you like, for as much money as you like. If you decide to only pledge $10 to an actor’s script-writing project, that’s fine! If you end up pledging $5,000 to support the publishing of a young artist’s graphic novel, you can! I’m really excited about the opportunity to post my own project proposal — finishing Little Storm for physical release.
Look for more information on our campaign as we approach a launch in 2 or 3 weeks.
